What to wear when skiing or snowboarding

Here are some guidelines for how to dress for skiing/ snowboarding. Remember its best to LAYER clothing in case of weather changes.

  1. Socks should fit snugly but not too tight. One good pair will be enough (not too thick), bring an extra pair just in case!
  2. Long underwear paired with ski pants or rain shell pants are best. Jeans are not recommended as they bunch up in ski boots, get cold easily, and are uncomfortable around the legs.
  3. Turtleneck with wool or fleece sweater or jacket with water resistant qualities.
  4. Always bring something to cover your ears. A hat is the best thing to wear!
  5. Ski gloves or mittens that are water resistant are the best idea.
  6. Goggles or sunglasses to protect your eyes.
  7. Sun screen with a minimum of 15 SPF.
  8. Neck gator, face mask and change of clothes are always a good idea.
