Charlottetown - Mt. Stewart Loop: More Information
Veseys Seed Company
If you have any interest at all in plants and gardening, make a detour to Veseys Seed Company. Turn right on Route 25, and Vesey's main buildings will be on the right in about 800 meters.
This Island company got its start over 65 years ago when Arthur Vesey, a local market gardener, began ordering seeds for his friends and neighbors. Over the decades Vesey's evolved into a principal supplier to the U.S. and Canada of vegetable and flower seeds that are especially suited to the demands of northern climates. All seeds are tested in 40 acres of trial gardens.
Visitors are welcomed to the gardens. There is also a retail store selling seeds, gardening equipment, and flower and nature crafts. After visiting Vesey's, backtrack to Confederation Trail and turn right. This detour adds about 1.6 kilometers to the distances that follow.
