Festivals in PEI - Fall Flavours, PEI Shellfish Festival

Fall Flavours - is an Island-wide Fine Food Festival that highlights authentic Island tastes and traditions. Fall Flavours is an excellent food and wine festival, the food comes from the land and sea around us, often from less than a mile away. You can enjoy the food or you can learn a new favorite recipe. There are workshops like the Cheese Lovers Paradise, or Morning with a Chef. Or, get your hands dirty at one of the Direct to the Source Product Experiences such as Pick and Press or a Lobster Lovers Feast.
As the host of the Festival, Chef Michael Smith brings immediate credibility to the event. Chef Michael is an Island original, Canada's most famous chef and host of Food Network's Chef Abroad.
The bulk of activities will take place in Charlottetown, with activities also taking place across Prince Edward Island from September 25 - October 4, 2009.
Between September 18th and 20th, 2009 there's one place to be if you like seafood and that's the International Shellfish Festival on PEI. It's said to be the "Biggest kitchen party in Atlantic Canada". The Culinary Institute of Canada has demos of PEI Mussels, clams, oysters and quahogs every day. As well if you're interested in having the best seafood chowder ever made there is a couple of chowder competitions where you can taste the contenders. And the World Invitational Oyster Shucking Competition is another 'you must witness this event' amongst good music and good times. You could even go on a boat cruise, if you feel up for it.
