Live like an Islander

This colorful, dynamic itinerary takes journalists on a hands-on experience, deep inside the specialized world of a number of intriguing Islanders. Visit a harness-racing family; meet their horses, trainers, riders; listen in on their racing stories and descriptions of their fast-paced sport. Join in with a blacksmithing family and work with them using traditional techniques to hand-forge iron. Sit in with a group of quilters and enjoy their easy sociability and learn to stitch and piece together marvelous fabric folk art. Visit the aromatic premises of a chocolatier, tong and shuck oysters or pull lobster traps with local fishermen. Soak up the Island

Island Fusion is a new Festival that highlights Prince Edward Island's rich cultural heritage with festivals and events taking place in communities across the Island. Follow the Festival of Small Halls to over 40 Island small-hall venues where musicians, dancers, actors, storytellers and artisans show off their skills. Get your toes tapping and join the folks at the Rollo Bay Bluegrass Festival or the Indian River Music Festival, or watch Island lighthouses come alive through art, music, and food at the new annual Lighthouse Festival. Fall Flavours Festival

September 7th-30th
This press tour is designed for the absolute foodie who loves to learn and is always up for an adventure. For five days, we will take you across our Island, bringing you into direct contact with the red clay and saltwater origins of our delicious dishes - a total immersion in the full farm-to-table/ocean-to-plate experience. With eight Food Network celebrity chefs and over 250 events such as the Tuna Cup Challenge, Lobster Party on the Beach, Farm Day in the City, Chef on Board, and the PEI Shellfish Festival, it's a guaranteed, extraordinary week of succulent eating pleasure.

Everything Anne

June 1st - October 1st
For those who love Anne of Green Gables, this press tour is for you.
This 3-day itinerary kicks off with a drive down Green Gables Shore through the pastoral farmland that Lucy Maud Montgomery made famous in her books, stopping at the Green Gables House, the Lucy Maud Montgomery Homestead, and Avonlea Village. You will enjoy delicious treats, arts and crafts and everything Anne. You will take part in Anne's Perfectly Scrumptious Wild-Rose Tea Party and Matthew's Carriage Ride around the Silver Bush property. No trip to the Island is complete without witnessing the Anne of Green Gables Musical - it's Canada's longest running family musical, now in its 47th season and also, the new sequel, Anne and Gilbert the Musical.

Paddle and Pedal the Island

June 1st - October 1st
For fresh air lovers, this itinerary includes three days paddling from inn to inn, followed by two days cycling the province's Confederation Trail. If classy country inns and fine dining sounds too soft, we can arrange for overnight camping instead. This is an individual tour; dates depend on outfitter's schedule.
