PEI 2014, the City of Charlottetown and Quebec City produces major cultural exchange projects in 2014

PEI 2014, the City of Charlottetown and Quebec City are partnering to produce three major cultural exchange projects in 2014. In recognition of the 150th anniversaries of the Charlottetown and Quebec Confederation Conferences, the Government of Canada will fund the projects that highlight the link between the meetings of the Fathers of Confederation in each city.

The three projects under development include a visit of Tall Ships to Charlottetown, Summerside and Quebec City; a contemporary dance production involving dance students in both cities and a professional dance company that will be performed in both cities; and commemorative statues that will be placed on the waterfront of both cities. Further details about each project will be revealed early in 2014.

In keeping with PEI 2014's guiding principles, the Charlottetown-Quebec collaborative projects collectively pay tribute to our history, celebrate the present through our youth, and will leave an enduring legacy by way of public art in each city.
