Boil beets until tender. Drop into cold water and remove skins. You may slice beets and put in warm sterilized bottles. Fill bottles nearly full.Combine one pint of vinegar and 2 cups white sugar. Bring to a boil. While hot, pour over the beets until bottles are full. Drop in a few white cloves.
Seal tightly.
