Smothered Chicken

6 pieces chicken
1 cup uncooked rice
1 package onion soup mix
1 20 ounce tin mushroom soup
1 soup tin of water

Wash chicken pieces and lay them in the bottom of a casserole dish. Sprinkle rice over them. In separate bowl, mix onion soup mix with mushroom soup. Add water and mix. Pour mixture over the chicken and rice. Put lid on casserole and bake at 300 F. for 1 1/2 hours.
