3 egg whites 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 cups sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla or almond extract 1 1/2 cups shredded coconut 3 cups cereal flakes Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry, add sugar in small amounts beating after each addition until stiff. Mixture should be stiff enough to hold its shape by the time all sugar has been added. Beat in flavouring and fold in coconut and cereal flakes. Drop from teaspoon onto greased baking sheet and bake in slow oven 325 F 15-25 minutes, depending on size. Remove from pan as soon as taken from oven. Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
