1 cup soft butter 4 eggs 1 tsp. baking powder 1 cup sugar 3 1/4 cup flour 1/4 tsp. salt seeded raisins Cream butter and add 1 cup sugar gradually, creaming until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Sift dry ingredients together and stir. Chill the dough. Heat oven to 350 F. Have ungreased cookie sheets ready. Roll dough about 1/8 inch thick and cut into 2-inch rounds with a cookie cutter. Put on cookie sheets (sprinkle with sugar if desired). Press one fat raisin into the centre of each cookie. Bake about 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on racks. Yield: about 6 dozen cookies. Submitted by Marjorie McGuigan, Iona.
