Dream Bars

1/2 cup butter 1 1/2 cups brown sugar 1 1/8 cup flour 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1 1/2 cups shredded coconut 1 cup nut meats (selection of chopped nuts, such as walnuts) Cream butter, add 1/2 cup brown sugar and beat well. Blend in 1 cup flour and spread mixture in a large pan about 9x13 inches. Bake for 15 minutes at 325 F. Beat eggs with remaining brown sugar and add vanilla. Add remaining flour, baking powder, salt, coconut and nuts. Spread over baked layer. Return to oven and bake 25 additional minutes. Cut into bars while warm.
