1 cup butter 2 cups white sugar 4 heaping Tbsp. cocoa 4 eggs, beaten 1 cup flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 cup nuts (optional) 1 tsp. vanilla Icing: 2 cups icing sugar 2 Tbsp. butter 2 Tbsp. cocoa 2 Tbsp. boiling water 2 Tbsp. vanilla Cream sugar, cocoa and butter, add beaten eggs and vanilla. Add flour and nuts. Bake in greased 9x13-inch pan at 350 F 40 - 45 minutes. Top will appear underdone but don't overcook as it should be moist and chewy. Add icing immediately after removing brownies from oven. Icing will melt to a glaze. Submitted by Barbara Baker, Souris.
