
Plum Pudding
Submitted by Marion French, St. Peters1 coffee cup raisins, sticky, cutĀup
1 cup molasses
1 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
3 cups flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. each salt, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg
Grease the can well with butter. Combine the ingredients and mix
well. Pour into can and steam for 3 hours. Serve with sauce.
Sauce:
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/8 tsp. salt
1 cup warm water
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine all dry ingredients in a saucepan, add water gradually and stir constantly. Cook over low heat stir until thickened and smooth. Remove from heat and add vanilla and butter. Serve hot. Makes about 1 cup.
