Peanut Crackerjacks

This is very popular when the family plays cards, and it's passed around and around the table.

10 cups warm popcorn
11/2 cups peanuts
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup dark corn syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Melt the margarine, add sugar, corn syrup and salt and boil 5 minutes. Stir in soda and vanilla. Put popcorn and nuts in a roaster and pour syrup over top.

Bake 45 minutes at 250 F. Keep popcorn warm in the oven while making the syrup.
