Coffee Cake

5 or 6 tsp. shortening lard or oil
1/3 cup sugar
2 cup all-purpose flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 egg (beaten)
2/3 to 1 cup milk

Preheat oven 350 F. Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Sift flour and baking powder together. Mix beaten egg and milk. Add to creamed mixture alternately with flour.

Topping (Mix well)

1 tbsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. flour
3 tbsp. butter or shortening
5 tbsp. sugar
