Partidge Berry Loaf with Hot Sauce

1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups partridge berries
2/3 cup milk

Beat with mixer, butter , sugar, eggs and vanilla combine flour, baking powder, salt, milk and partridge berries. Add to cream mixture. Fold into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 F. for 45 minutes.

Hot Sauce

2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups water
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla rum or rum flavoring to taste

Place in sauce pan let boil until bubbly, then add 1 tsp. vanilla and rum flavoring or rum to taste. This recipe can be made in advance. When ready to serve, place sliced loaf in foil wrap and keep in warm oven, then reheat the hot sauce. This is a great recipe for having a large family dinner or for weddings or parties.
