Sugar Cookies - 1999
3/4 lb shortening or butter
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp lemon flavouring
1/2 tsp vanilla flavouring
4 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Combine first three ingredients, cream until smooth. Add eggs, flavouring, then dry ingredients. Roll thin. Cut with sharp cutter (or use a thin water glass). Bake in moderate oven 350 F for approximately 10 minutes. Excellent made with butter.
