Layered Lemon Dessert - 1999

Base: First layer 3/4 cup flour 1 3/4 cup rolled cracker crumbs 1/2 cup white sugar 1 tsp baking powder 1 cup butter 2 Tbsp milk Second Layer: 1 pkg Dream Whip 1 pkg cream cheese 1 pkg lemon pie filling 1/2 cup icing sugar Mix flour, cracker crumbs, sugar and baking powder. Cut in butter and add milk. Line the mixture on a greased 8 x 12 inch pan. Place in over for 5 minutes until golden brown. Second layer: Mix 1 pkg dream whip according to package directions. Mix in one pkg cream cheese until well blended. Then mix in a 1/2 cup of icing sugar with Dream Whip and cream cheese mixture. Place half of the mixture on top of crust. Then mix lemon pie filling as per package directions. Place on top of cream cheese mixture. Then spread the remainder of cream cheese mixture over the lemon. Top with Dream Whip only and garnish with a lemon rind bow. Very good and a light dessert. Submitted by Brenda MacDonald, Stratford, P.E.I.
