Old Fashioned Molasses Pudding - 1999

1 cup molasses 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. all spice 1/2 cup hot water 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 cup butter (melted) 1/2 lb. raisins 3 cups flour 1/2 tsp. salt Method: Combine molasses, sugar and spices. Dissolve baking soda in hot water, then add to molasses mixture. Add melted butter and raisins mix well. Add sifted flour and salt, a little at a time. Pour into pudding bag or greased mould and steam 2 to 2 1/2 hours cover mould tightly. Submitted by Dot Bailey, Souris, P.E.I.
