1/4 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup of icing sugar
1/2 tsp. each of lemon, almond and vanilla extract
4 cups flour
1 pound butter

Leave butter at room temperature until very soft. Add extracts. Sift brown sugar and icing sugar into flour. Mix into softened butter mixture. Roll on floured surface to desired thickness for your cookie cutter.

Bake at 300 for 20 minutes. For very thin cookies bake for 15 minutes. Ice with butter almond icing.

Butter Almond Icing
2 cups icing sugar
4 tbsp. butter
2-3 tsps. almonds
milk to make desired thickness
