A Century of Anne!
Individuals, tourism operators and communities are embracing Anne of Green Gables in new and innovative ways as we collectively celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the publication of L.M. Montgomery’s novel Anne of Green Gables. Come celebrate with us and see the beauty of the Island while you immerse yourself in any number of Anne events. By the time you leave, you’ll have a hard time deciding which is better - the book, or the real thing! New events are continually being planned so be sure to check out www.Anne2008.com - there’s something for everyone!
April Wine
The legendary band April Wine will rock the Harbourfront Jubilee Theatre stage in Summerside on Friday, April 11th. The band started in 1969 and has 15 studio albums, three live releases and numerous compilations to their credit.
Country Music Legend Rocks the Island
George Jones, with special guest Jason Byrd, will grace the Charlottetown Civic Centre stage on Wednesday, April 23rd. George Jones first hit the charts in the 1950's and is one of country music’s top recoding artists. His classic 1980 rendering of “He Stopped Loving Her Today” was voted the Greatest Country Song of All Time in a nationwide poll of country music listeners.
Island Traditions
This year we are excited to announce the new Genuine Island Experiences type Island Traditions. Immerse yourself in our Island and experience the flavour, music, stories, entertainment and rich history of this enchanting Island. Many of these packaged experiences are kid-friendly or allow you to explore and be a kid again yourself!
A picture perfect trail
With two feet, a camera and an eye for picture perfect scenery, aspiring photographers will be in their glory on the Confederation Trail, Prince Edward Island's tip-to-tip trail. Rolling green hills, brilliant red cliffs, cool blue waters, and quaint towns and villages captured during any season will make for vibrant memories of time spent on this tiny island.
