This recipe has been in the family for generations. I remember my mother making it at Christmas time, and her mother made it when she was a little girl.

3/4 cup flour
1 cup white sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup melted margarine
1 cup chopped dates
3/4 cup nuts
3 eggs, beaten until light

Melt the margarine, add the remaining ingredients and blend well. Spread the batter into greased 9inch pan. Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes. Cut into fingers, while warm, then roll in fine sugar.
