1 cup cut up pitted dates
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup white flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla
Grease a 9 inch cake pan. Preheat oven to 325 . Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Mix in the dates and walnuts. Combine well beaten eggs and vanilla . Add to flour mixture and combine thoroughly. Spread batter in the pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes. It should be still quite soft and moist to the touch. As soon as it is baked, cut into 36 squares. Roll each square in icing sugar and shape into a ball. Work quickly so you'll get them all rolled while they are still warm.
