3/4 cup evaporated milk
1 cup gumdrops (no black), finely chopped
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup chopped Walnuts
In small bowl combine milk and gumdrops. Let stand. In another bowl beat together butter, sugar, egg and vanilla . Add milk mixture. Stir. Measure in flour, baking powder, salt and nuts. Stir well. Spread mixture in a 9x9" pan. Bake in 350 F oven for 25 to 30 min. Frost before too cool.
Icing:
1 1/2 cup icing sugar
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
5 Tbsp. evaporated milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Beat together until smooth. Spread on warm squares.
