1 Tbsp. white sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 cup butter
Mix with fork and then fingers until blended, Press in 8x8" pan.

1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup white sugar
2 eggs (beaten)
3/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream butter ,sugar and beaten eggs. Add flour, divide batter and tint half a pale green. Drop batter on short bread bottom checkerboard style. Bake in 350 F oven 30-35 minutes in 8x8' pan.

Icing:
2 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. warm milk
1 1/2 cups icing sugar
1 tsp. almond Flavouring

The icing really makes the squares.
