This 39.5 km stretch of the Confederation Trail begins in Mount Stewart at Route 351 to Georgetown. The communities that the Confederation Trail passes through are Mount Stewart, St. Teresa, Cardigan, Montague Junction and Georgetown.

Trail Features

• The trail goes from the community of Peakes to Mooney's Pond, where there is also a community trail.
• In St. Teresa there is a community garden and the historic St. Cuthbert's Roman Catholic Church.
• At Eight Road there is a Ducks Unlimited natural area and near Collins Road a large population of the Lady Slipper flower can be found; this is the provincial flower of Prince Edward Island.
• Cardigan and Georgetown have numerous services for users of the Confederation Trail. Cardigan is also home to a fish hatchery.
• There is a 9.9 km spur line which runs from Cardigan to the Town of Montague. This spur line passes by the Brudenell River Provincial Park and Campground. A bridge takes trail users over the Brudenell River.
