Hurricane Fiona Update: Notice to Visitors

Hurricane Fiona greatly impacted all parts of Prince Edward Island. Many homes, businesses and accommodations have been damaged by the hurricane. Clean-up efforts continue.

If you are planning to travel to Prince Edward Island, please check with your accommodation, attraction or operator of interest before heading out to ensure they are open.

Recovery updates

Provincial Parks and Trails

  • The trails and playground areas of Bonshaw Hills and Strathgartney Provincial Parks are now open. Mountain bike trails are impacted by uprooted trees. Please use caution. 
  • Some sections of the Confederation Trail are now clear for public use. Visitors are reminded to keep safety top of mind.
  • Other seasonal provincial parks and campgrounds remain closed.

Safety is a Priority

  • Obey all traffic markers and do not go around or remove any barricades, barrels or traffic cones in place to protect motorists and employees who are working to clear sites.
  • Stay out of any closed trails, parks, or closed beaches – there may be tree damage or unsafe conditions.
