The Town of Cornwall, located in Queen’s County, traces history of settlement back to the 18th century where it started out as a farming town with dramatic water views boarding the North and West Rivers. The Trans Canada Highway was constructed in the early 1960’s and now serves as a connector between Prince Edward Island’s Capital City, Charlottetown and the Confederation Bridge, located in Borden, PEI.
Incorporated in 1995 by the provincial government through amalgamation, with a population just over 5,000, the Town of Cornwall has seen various infrastructures throughout the years allowing a visitor all the necessary services for your travel needs.
The Town of Cornwall is the proud hometown to 2011 NHL Stanley Cup Champion, Adam McQuaid and Olympian Canadian Sprinter Jared Connaughton. Housing a multi-purpose outdoor sporting facility; Cornwall has been the host of many sporting events.
The Town of Cornwall is part of the Red Sands Shore Region.
