Summer Camps
For kids and adults who have always wanted to perform, the Confederation Centre of the Arts offers one- and two-week theatre camps in July and August, where you can try your hand at mime and clowning, dance, martial arts, voice study, acting and film editing. If you%u2019ve secretly desired to speak Shakespeare on a stage, get acquainted with jazz dancing or musical theatre, then here%u2019s the chance.
Artists and artisans will enjoy the week-long summer workshops offered in the beautiful fishing village of North Rustico. You%u2019ll have the opportunity to learn, share, create, experiment and produce a variety of artistic products. It may be hard to choose from stained glass, painting, pottery, basketmaking, and more!
Adults and children over the age of 10 can enjoy taking part in a six-day Harness Racing Camp at one of PEI%u2019s scenic matinee camps. For five days you%u2019ll learn the ins and outs of caring for an equine athlete and how to drive a horse, and on the sixth day you%u2019ll actually have the opportunity to participate in a race!
Quiet Company Farm welcomes children ages 8 to 15 to join them in their summer camp program. Their unique camp revolves around horsemanship and horse loving children are sure to learn a lot and have a wonderful time.
Be amazed at the Dr. Tim Ogilvie Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) Vet Camp for aspiring veterinarians, budding scientists and animal lovers! The only camp of its kind in Canada, the national award-winning AVC Vet Camp offers an educational adventure like no other. Learn about anatomy, wildlife medicine, animal behaviour and much more! Visit our large and small animal hospitals, take a trip to a dairy farm. Camps run during July each year.
The Canadian Golf Academy, located at the beautiful Fox Meadow golf course in Stratford, offers several week long, half day camps for youth ages 8-16. This includes 15 hours of supervised instruction on all facets of the game. Adults can enjoy 1-5 days of lessons and there are also clinics designed specifically for women.
Hockey enthusiasts can enjoy one of the many camps offered by Andrews Hockey Growth Programs. Camps include Foundational Training, Goaltending Programs, Defencemen%u2019s Specialty Program and much more. With graduates like Brad Richards, Sydney Crosby and Michael Ryder this hockey camp has earned its reputation for excellence!
The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) has several "Panther" camps throughout the summer which include volleyball, basketball, leadership, rugby and more. You%u2019ll have a chance to improve your skills, have fun and experience living on a university campus.
The Charlottetown Yacht Club and the Summerside Yacht Club have several Junior and Adult Sailing Camps to choose from. Learn sailing theory, boating safety, and of course several hours of hands-on training. Charter lessons are also available.
Outside Expeditions hosts camps for 10-14 year olds titled "WOW- Wonderful Outside World". These two-day camps offer young people the opportunity to explore PEI%u2019s rich coastal and marine environments by kayaking, hiking, and biking. The days are filled with nature activities, games, and of course lots of time in a kayak!
