The PEI International Shellfish Festival

Marking its 26th anniversary this year, the PEI International Shellfish Festival is pulling out all the stops to welcome back loyal fans and impress new festival-goers during its four-day event, which runs from September 14 to 17, 2023.

The festival’s signature kick-off event is Feast & Frolic presented by the Lobster Fishers of PE. This event is catered by locals Chef Irwin MacKinnon, Chef Andrew Smith and Chef Jesse MacDonald, along with a visiting Chef Ned Bell. This group of talented chefs will collaborate to create an unforgettable feast of PEI lobster, oysters, mussels and beef for the event’s 325 guests.

Canada’s biggest shellfish festival will also see the return of popular competitions including the PEI Potato Chowder Championship, Tie One On Mussel Competition, Mott’s Clamato Shellfish Festival Caesar Competition, Irish Point PEI Shucking Competition, Raspberry Point International Shucking Competition and the Garland Canada International Chef Challenge.

During the day, festival-goers will enjoy more live entertainment by local musicians and entertainers than ever before. The famous kitchen party always means high energy and party vibes in the big tent. See you then!
