About PEI

Prince Edward Island, Canada’s smallest province, spans 5,660 square kilometers (2,184 square miles) and is surrounded by the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The Island is just 224 kilometers (139 miles) long and from six to 64 kilometers (four to 40 miles) wide, with no point more than 16 kilometers from the ocean. Known for its stunning beaches, parks and vibrant culture, PEI is a haven for beachgoers, outdoor enthusiasts and food lovers. Known as Canada’s Food Island, you’ll find our mussels and oysters on restaurant menus around the world. And, of course, our fictional red-headed orphan, Anne of Green Gables, continues to be an international wonder generation after generation. No matter your desire, there is an adventure around every corner waiting for you to discover here.
