Signature EventsIt’s hard to believe that a place the size of Prince Edward Island can be so rich with festivals. It’s true!

Signature Events

The Island’s signature events provide a sampling of the best Island cuisine, music and culture. The renowned Charlottetown Festival offers main stage productions including Anne of Green Gables – The Musical, as well as free outdoor performances, art gallery exhibitions, dining and shopping at the Confederation Centre of the Arts. Many other theatres across the province – including the Kings Playhouse, Harbourfront Theatre, Watermark Theatre and Victoria Playhouse – also offer their own summer seasons of special theatre productions and music. A visit to L’Exposition Agricole et le Festival Acadien in Abrams Village provides a unique a taste of Acadian culture, while Scottish culture comes alive at the Highland Gathering and Highland Storm at the College of Piping in Summerside. Foodies will want to sample cuisine at events like Fall Flavours and the PEI International Shellfish Festival – a huge kitchen party with music and – of course – shellfish on the menu.

Music is a big part of many PEI festivals and events. And it comes in an eclectic mix, from Acadian fiddling to authentic Celtic, from jazz to country.
