Tourism PEI introduces new bench installations inspired by Carley Fortune's bestselling novel

Tourism PEI is inviting visitors to step inside the pages of one of the world’s most popular summer reads. Tourism PEI, in collaboration with bestselling Canadian author Carley Fortune, unveiled a series of handcrafted benches at locations featured in This Summer Will Be Different, creating a new literary tourism experience that celebrates the Island's landscapes, communities and growing profile as a destination for readers from around the globe.

The first bench installations can now be found at Basin Head Provincial Park and Point Prim Lighthouse, two iconic settings where visitors can pause and experience some of the landscapes that helped bring This Summer Will Be Different to life. More than places to sit, the installations serve as story markers, encouraging visitors to linger a little longer, soak in the view and experience the Island through the eyes of the novel's beloved characters.

Additional benches will be unveiled in the coming months at other locations featured in This Summer Will Be Different, creating a growing literary trail across western Prince Edward Island, further strengthening the connection between the story and the places that inspired it. Islanders and travelers alike are invited to discover what's next, explore new corners of the Island, and experience what makes PEI so special.
