Aerial view of Argyle Shore Provincial Park

Argyle Shore Prince Edward Island

Argyle Shore, Prince Edward Island

Idyllic, serene and pastoral aptly describe Argyle Shore. Cozied up against the Northumberland Strait, its green fields, red cliffs and blue skies are striking. This is south shore cottage country, where locals, summer residents and visitors alike have been escaping for decades. In 1971, Argyle Shore Provincial Park opened on land formerly owned by Ken MacDougall.

Blue Goose Restaurant & Bakery

 18790 Trans-Canada Highway, DeSable

The Blue Goose Restaurant, located nearby on the Trans-Canada Highway, has been a fixture for comfort food and hospitality since 1949. Originally a full-service restaurant, once owned by the grandfather of celebrity chef Matty Matheson, it continues today under new ownership as a restaurant, bakery, and convenience store. Interestingly, its name lives on beyond Desable; Matheson's farm in Ridgeway, Ontario, is called "Blue Goose Farm."
