Forge on the Farm: The Blacksmith Experience

About this Experience

Step into our historic forge and discover the ancient art of blacksmithing. Guided by a working blacksmith, you’ll learn the forge’s history and the basics of hand forging while creating a simple keepsake to take home. As an apprentice for the day, you’ll apply your new skills to craft a one‑of‑a‑kind piece, including a series of forged coat hooks. The experience also includes time in the wood shop using traditional hand tools. The finished piece is assembled and branded with Orwell’s logo to commemorate your visit.

A two-hour experience for ages 16 and up.
