Bryson Guptill

Founder, The Island Walk

Bryson Guptill is a former president of Island Trails Inc, a Prince Edward Island-based not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the promotion of non-motorized hiking and cycling trails in the province. Bryson is the founder of the 700-km Island Walk which circles around the province using existing trails, red dirt roads and the shoulder of secondary roads on the Island.

Were you born and raised here in PEI?

I was born in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.

How long have you lived in PEI?

I moved to PEI in 1995 and planned to stay for two years. I've been here ever since. 

Where do you live?

I live in Charlottetown.

What does your average day look like?

My average day starts with a hike – I have a very active young Labrador retriever who loves to
run!

What is your favourite thing about life in PEI?

I love the relaxed pace of life.

What is something people would not know if they are not from PEI?

Most people wouldn’t know that your friends are likely to include people from all walks of life –
there isn’t the narrow clique of contacts you get in larger places.

What are you passionate about personally?

I’m passionate about my friends and family – and about hiking on PEI.
