Kelly Richard

Manager/Vacation Planner, Tourism Prince Edward Island
La Région Evangéline

Kelly Richard was born and raised in La Région Evangéline, the Acadian region of PEI, and lives there with her family today. She enjoys musical theatre, collecting beach glass, and spending time with her children. She's always excited to show visitors PEI’s beautiful coastal drives and hidden side roads to endless sandy beaches.

What's an average day for you?
Apart from spending most of my day helping visitors plan their ideal vacations, I spend the other part of my day with my family, going to the beaches, and catching up on some reading. And whenever I can, I travel.

What is your favourite thing about life in PEI?
The friendliness of the people and their warm hospitality.

What is something people wouldn't know if they're not from the Island?
They may not know that we have a vibrant French community here, and I am always very proud to tell people. And the number of festivals we have in season are often a surprise.

What can’t you stop talking about?
The scenic drives - they are beautiful and such a wonderful way to see the whole Island.

Any fun facts about yourself or about the Island that you think people should know?
Lobster isn't red when it comes out of the sea. It can be any shade of blue, green or yellow, and only turns red when it's cooking.
