About Brudenell
Long before families camped and golfers teed off here, three rivers carved their way to the sea. The Mi'kmaq called the bay where they met Samkook (sahm-googk) —"sandy shore"—and traveled these waterways for thousands of years. French and British settlers followed the same routes, understanding what the Mi'kmaq already knew: these rivers were highways.
Today, the Three Rivers watershed is a designated Canadian Heritage Rivers System, honoring the role the rivers have played for millennia.
