Murray Harbour and Murray River Itinerary

With the beauty of working fishing harbours as a backdrop—and the Confederation Trail running through each village—entrepreneurs are putting down roots in Murray Harbour and Murray River. Located along the Points East Coastal Drive, these neighbouring communities are full of fresh energy and local flavour. Explore them this summer with a few insider tips.

Start your day at The Deck at Ocean Acres with Breakfast Poutine or Gauc N’ Toast, then stretch your legs on a scenic walk along the Confederation Trail or the Beck Trail in Murray River. While you’re there, be sure to stop at the Murray River Dam for a classic photo op.
Next, head to Kings Castle Provincial Park, a magical family favourite. Kids will love the playground, and on warm days, the river is perfect for a refreshing swim.

For a taste of the local craft beverage scene, visit the boutique Newman Estate Winery to pick up a bottle of small-batch wine, then take in sweeping views from the terrace bar at Double Hill Cidery.

Climb Cape Bear Lighthouse for panoramic views of the coastline, where secluded beaches and dramatic sandstone cliffs stretch out below.

Not enough time to do it all? Stay awhile with a unique glamping experience at Nellie's Landing at the marina. On site, you’ll find electric bike rentals, guided tours and scheduled live entertainment—everything you need to slow down and settle in.

We can’t wait for you to discover the cool vibe in the small towns of Murray Harbour and Murray River.
