Visitors are reminded that dogs and other pets are not permitted on national park beaches from April 1 to October 15. Please plan ahead!
Head to North Rustico Beach for red cliffs and sands that contrast beautifully with the blue ocean and sky. In the early afternoon, you can watch fishing boats return to the harbour with their daily catches. Magnificent scenery and photos guaranteed!
With its wide sandbars at low tide and an easy walk from the parking area, this beach is a favourite of many who prefer smaller crowds and a little less fuss. Washrooms are available near the upper parking area.
North Rustico Beach is conveniently located at one end of the well-used Gulf Shore Way West multi-use trail that stretches for more than 8 km west to Oceanview. Full of iconic views of the signature sandstone cliffs, this paved trail runs parallel to the roadway and is ideal for cyclists, runners, hikers, and others.
National Park Beach Safety
Surfguards are on duty at PEI National Park locations from the end of June to Labour Day. They aim to post surf conditions each day by 11 am.
