Coastal Drives in Prince Edward Island

Breathtaking views with every turn

Prince Edward Island has three coastal drives to explore. You’ll stop again and again for photos of grazing cows, fishing boats, country churches, pretty painted houses as well as historic and iconic landmarks. Take time to walk around our cities too; each has a unique vibe and coastal boardwalk.

North Cape Coastal Drive

A medley of classic Island scenery, naturally sifted white and red sand beaches, towering lighthouses and essential coastal stops.

Central Coastal
Drive

Everything you need for a fabulous vacation can be found between the Green Gables Shore to the north and the Red Sands Shore to the south.

Points East Coastal Drive

With 50 phenomenal beaches just minutes apart along the Points East Coastal Drive, get ready for beautiful coastlines and sand in your shoes.

Lighthouses

Let these beacons guide you around the spectacular coastal drives of Prince Edward Island. How many lighthouses do you think we have?

Confederation Trail Cycling Itineraries

You can have the adventure of a lifetime and cycle the entire trail, or do a section each time you visit. However you choose to do the trail, you won’t want to miss out on this unique experience.

Central Coastal

The branch trail from Emerald to Borden-Carleton is an easy 18 km section of the trail that will take you through farmlands.

North Cape Coastal

The Tignish to O’Leary section is an easy to moderate 45 km cycling trail that takes you through coastal communities.

Points East Coastal

The Morell to Elmira section is a moderate 54 km trail that will take you through some of the most scenic coastal views.

No wrong turns here

There is no such thing as a wrong turn on the Island; only the chance to explore a road less travelled – be it a narrow red dirt lane arched by hardwood trees, rolling country hillside or a byway lined with lupins, self-serve potato stands and folk art mailboxes.
