This fish do use the fish ladder at Knox's Dam.
I don't know that I have ever seen a salmon in the area, I do know I have watched the trout use the fish ladder. In PEI, trout and salmon typically spawn in different seasons. Brook trout spawn in the fall, usually from September to November. This is when I have seen the most fish go through the ladder. Rainbow trout and Atlantic salmon spawn in the spring, with rainbow trout spawning in March to May and Atlantic salmon spawning in late May and early June. I don't tend to get out to the fish ladder at Knox's in the spring because there is usually snow or muddy conditions.
So, this is a great time to keep an eye out for them!
