I am interested in activities that we can do in June 2025. There are four of us with my kids being 21 and 23.

Hi Nancy,

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. The end of June is a great time to visit Prince Edward Island. This time, as spring turns to summer, is just lovely.

You will love the Island. The landscape of the Island is reminiscent in some ways of the Halton Hills (which I absolutely love).

In terms of tours (by boat or otherwise), there are several options available to you in June, as outlined below:

There are also a ton of great hiking trails on the Island. My favourite place to walk is at Greenwich - PEI National Park.. The spectacular parabolic dune system rises above white- sand beaches and acts as a stunning backdrop to an extensive trail system that includes a floating boardwalk. It is also a great place to go cycling, if that's up your alley. If you need bikes, there are plenty of places to rent them. This one is perfect for cycling at Greenwich/St. Peter's.

Nearby is St. Peter's Harbour Lighthouse (www.pc.gc.ca/apps/dfhd/page_hl_eng.aspx?id=15272), a decommissioned lighthouse that is truly a breathtaking sight. Set amid the high white sand dunes, you cannot travel along the north shore without taking a moment at St. Peter's Harbour Lighthouse.

If you are brave enough, you could go to the beach there (or anywhere, the Island has hundreds of beaches) for a walk or to sunbathe. The water may be a little chilly. Yet, I have friends who swim here from May until November. They are braver than I. Maybe you are too!

I hope you and your family have a fantastic visit to PEI and end up loving it as much as I do.

Cheers,

Rod
