I am traveling in mid October and I would like to find someone in Charlottetown to knit sweater by hand or with machine.

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander! I am glad to hear that you're coming to visit. I don't know of any knitters who may be available to knit you a sweater upon your arrival. I would suggest that you visit or contact Northern Watters Knitwear & Tartan Shop. 

Located in the heart of downtown Charlottetown, they use antique Swiss knitting looms to produce a woolen product of exceptional craftsmanship. Depending on the pattern detail, a sweater can be created in up to 8 hours. If they can't do it for you, they may be able to suggest someone. 

Also, download the PEI Fibre Trail booklet that lists all local fibre artists. Perhaps you could contact a few in advance of your visit to inquire.
