I am planning a trip to PEI in September and would like to metal detect any public beaches. I was wondering if I need a permit to do so and where would I obtain one. Thanks in advance.

Hi Ed,

Thank you for reaching out. Metal detecting is allowed on most beaches in Prince Edward Island. There are; however, places and beaches where it is not allowed.

Metal detecting is not allowed on the beaches or properties of the Prince Edward Island National Park

Have fun!
