We are visiting PEI first 2 weeks in July, staying near Lauching Bay near Boughton Island. Will the water temperature be too cold to swim? I have swum in high 60's to low 70's F with a wetsuit but wasn't sure if it was worth packing one. Thanks Gail

Good morning Gail;

Thank you for reaching out to Ask an Islander. I'm so happy to hear that you will be visiting in July. The water temperature on that side of the Island will still be cool in early July. Having said that, the temperature at Georgetown yesterday was 12c/53.6. You can visit this website to monitor the temperatures.

I do hope that you get a chance to swim during your visit.

All the best.

Verna Lynne
