What are the must do’s for an 8 year old boy in the Panmure island area?
Greetings from Prince Edward Island!
Panmure Island is one of my favourite places on the Island. My daughter is about the same ages as your son – below are some things that we like to do in the area (these are all within a hour’s drive of Panmure Island).
• Visit Panmure Island Lighthouse, the oldest wooden lighthouse in PEI.
• Spend the day at Kings Castle Provincial Park. Parents and kids love this park. It’s the kind of place that will take you back to your own childhood, with play structures that are perfect for wild adventures and magical storybook characters hidden in the woods (pack a lunch and bring your bathing suits, as there’s a beach onsite).
• Drop by the Belfast Corn Maze (be sure to check out the market fresh local goodies while you’re there).
• Go deep-sea fishing, clam digging or starfish hunting with Tranquility Cove Adventures. Located in Georgetown, they’re one of PEI’s leading providers of experiential activities.
• Check out Basin Head Provincial Park, just past Souris. It’s consistently rated at PEI’s best beach by locals and visitors alike.
• Experience life on the Island in the 1890s at Orwell Corner Historic Village.
• Visit the majestic buffalo at Buffaloland Park.
• Go to Brudenell Miniatures Barnyard Zoo.
The Points East Coastal Drive website has everything you need to know to plan a holiday in Kings County, so definitely check that out. I suggest you also visit the Tourism PEI and Festivals & Events PEI websites to learn about the festivals and events that will be happening while you’re here.
I hope this information is helpful. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to reach out again.
