Shortbread Cookies

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  1. Combine all ingredients thoroughly.
  2. Once able to form in a ball, break pieces off and form into 1-inch balls.
  3. Place on a parchment-lined cookie sheet and flatten with a fork.
  4. Place a cherry segment or a few edible sprinkles on each cookie.
  5. Refrigerate the cookies for 1 to 2 hours.
  6. Bake at 325°F for 17 minutes.
