Greetings from Prince Edward Island! I’m glad to know that you’ll be visiting the Island next month. It sounds like you’ll be combining fun-filled summertime experiences with research about your family’s genealogy – what a fascinating holiday this will be!

For dinner cruises, below are a few options that come highly recommended by my friends. Note that it’s important to make reservations are soon as possible, as you’ll be here during peak season and space is limited.

• The Fiddling Fisherman: JJ Chaisson is both a fisherman and a talented musician. He and his wife, Julie, offer memorable dinner cruises that combine lobster and traditional ceilidh music. They’re based in Souris.
•  Ride Solar Harbour Cruises: This 34-passenger, solar-electric vessel offers delicious breakfast and dinner cruises featuring locally-sourced food, in and around the Charlottetown Harbour.
• River Run Dining Cruises: The Sunset Dining Cruise departs from the Montague waterfront, and sails along the historic Three Rivers. Passengers enjoy a wonderful meal in a tranquil setting.

They have a wide selection of publications that describe PEI history in rich detail.
