Currently on my way to Cavendish. I’ve read lots about the sand dollars and sea shells, will I have luck on the Cavendish beaches? I unfortunately don’t have a lot of time to explore and want to make the most of the trip.

Hi Jody!

I am so sorry for the late reply! We were having some technical difficulties and we are just getting your question now.

Did you have any luck? I too love hunting for sand dollars but I have only ever had luck on the south side beaches. I feel like the surf is too strong on the north side, if they are there they get smashed up before we ever get a chance to find them.

My favourite spot for sand dollars is Fortune beach, Souris beach and sometimes Bothwell or Little Harbour beach. All of these are located on the south side on the Points East Coastal Drive

Happy hunting!

Valerie
