Where are we be able to find gluten free food options?

Hi Peggy,
Thanks for the question to Ask an Islander. Fortunately, there are lots of places on PEI that offer gluten-friendly menu items or have gluten-free options depending on your sensitivity. In order to be absolutely sure of your options, always, always check with your restaurant server before ordering.
One of the best spots around is Roe’s Tacos in Covehead. They keep their kitchen gluten-free and are very willing to accommodate anything else!
Most restaurants in Charlottetown offer up GF options and are good at marking menu items as such. Check out Gahan, Sims, Merchantman, Sea Rocket Oyster House, Slaymaker & Nichols Gastro House and John Brown. Lots of options!
Another option, if you’re also looking for a spa day, is Mysa Nordic Spa. The chef is very accommodating for persons with allergies. Unfortunately, you must be a spa guest to dine in the restaurant. It is worth it!
If you’re going to be on PEI for a longer time, I highly recommend checking out the Celiac Prince Edward Island group on Facebook! Contributors offer up all sorts of places and tips.
Hope that helps! Enjoy your time and eats on Prince Edward Island.
